Fabric API 1.20.1 causes multiplayer to drop

Description
So, I wanted to play modded minecraft with my friend, using Fabric 1.20.1.
Everytime I joined him through the Beta feature or he joined me, it said "cannot register receiver while client is not logging in". We thought its because of joining through labymod, but we figured out that Fabric API was the problem. You cant join even hosted modded servers.
Please, fix Fabric API... (this literally wouldnt happen on forge 😭)
