Vanilla inventory shift+click on "Destroy item" broken

Description
So basically there is this button in creative mode where you can put items and it destroys them. When holding shift while clicking it, it should clear the inventory. It just does nothing tho.

I tested this bug on 1.21 - 1.21.3 and reproduced it on 1.21 & 1.21.1
