Mini Me cosmetic stays Alex skin until manual refresh

As the title states, the minime addon a lot of times to most of the time displays an alex skin and only applies the correct minime skin once you go to your cosmetics and hit refresh. I have been having this issue for quite some time and it's starting to get annoying.
Will update later with evidence. It's reproducable by launching labymod and joining any server with minime enabled.
