Previewing your skin & cosmetics have a few rendering issues which appear to behave different across versions.

In the following video you can see 1.20.4 only having issues with hiding cosmetics behind the players skin, making the skin somewhat see-through. When using 1.8.9, skins are no longer partially "see-through", but cosmetics start to flicker. I also noticed the shading being different. Whilst 1.8.9 has no shadows, 1.20.4 seems to have a fixed light source creating shadows on cosmetics at specific angles.

I also noticed that 1.8.9's same issues also occur in 1.12.2 and that the issues from 1.20.4 only start occurring in 1.16.5 and onwards.
