Client takes 100% cpu and crashes

Greetings,
multiple of our users are having issues connecting to our server using LabyMod. Upon joining, the client takes 100% of the CPU and the game freezes until it crashes. This started happening after the recent update 4.3.16+2004 snapshot/bb2626c4 and still occurs in 4.3.17+2007.
